With the help of researchers, developers and entrepreneurs, primarily from Harvard and MIT and the Boston Community, we are building in HTML5 and node.js an open data platform to enable people to have their own data locker, securely store, access, share, and monetize all their personal data within a legally constituted trust framework. A secure server is used to enforce all the agreements of the trust framework and support open authentication, storage, discovery, payment, auditing, market making and “app store” services. The goal is to take all these services and make them available as open infrastructural services that be “mashed up” to enable the development of high value added applications.
